We washed and waxed the Lexus 2 weeks ago. We cleaned outside today with Meguair's Quik Detail.

After doing this, I decided to put the Ultimate Quik Wax on. This caused issues. It was like the Quik Wax would leave light off white film on my Obsidian color Convertible. I sprayed Quik detail over this "film" and it came off.

Where did I go wrong? Is Meguair's Ultimate Wax not compatible with the Meguair's Ultimate detail?

Looking for answer's.

I use both products and have never had a problem. I haven't used the wax immediately after the detailer l, but I wouldn't think that would be a problem.

One of them, maybe the detailer, says OK to use in the sun, and the other says use on a cool surface. Maybe your cars paint was too hot?

maybe the cloth/towel you were using was moist/wet?

I've even used it on warm surface [quick wax] with no issues...

I think the cloth may have been the slightest bit soiled. One thing I notice with the ultimate quick wax is that dew adheres to the paint more when I use it.

I used the Quik Wax yesterday wiyh no issues. It works GREAT, My problem was a damp cloth.

first off whenever you want to wax your car you wash it first. That day, not 2 weeks prior, lol. After dry you then apply the wax. You do not use quick detailer. that is only for after a couple days or so you want to wipe the car down to get dust or whatever off.

lol washed two weeks prior!! like flektone said, wax after wash. you probably need to claybar now since you waxed all those contaminants over the clear coat

I think the UQD is supposed to be used after UQW. They have a video on Amazon explaining their 5 or 4-step process.

The Car was waxed 2 weeks ago with Megulair's Ultimate wax 2x AFTER washing it with Megulair's Ultimate Car wash.

The Car was CLEAN when I put the UQW on it. I happened to have a micro towel I believe contaminated with UQD. I was tired and made that mistake.

FWIW, I frequently find that I don't need to wash and use UQD to remove light dust and fingerprints. I then also usually follow with a UQW application which works perfectly. There is no compatibility issue with these.

As the OP posted, the issue was likely due to a contaminated MF towel.

Exactly; I am no expert when it comes to detailing BUT I would never wax a dirty car.

IMHO I find that Meguiar's NXT & Ultimate spray detal attracts a lot of dust.
For waxing Migliore Primo carnauba wax is outstanding.
