Default Introducing: Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant

If you're familiar with the Wolfgang Line of Premium Car Care, then you already know that Wolfgang is dedicated to finding the latest breakthroughs in polymer technology to implement in each and every formula they offer. From the crystal-like shine and durable protection of the Deep Gloss Paint Sealant, to the fusion of German Super Polymers and Brazilian Carnauba Wax found in the Füzion Estate Wax, each Wolfgang formula is designed to be class leading in every aspect.

The new Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant will continue this tradition and offer excellent protection and durability on all exterior trim, including: wheels, tires, chrome, rubber and vinyl surfaces. Its hyper concentrated formula provides excellent UV protection to prevent cracking and fading of rubber and vinyl exterior surfaces. When used on wheels and other metal trim, it will protect against corrosion and degradation for months. This unique formula utilizes the latest in polymer technology and goes on extremely thin to provide a like-new satin finish on vinyl and rubber surfaces that is also water resistant.

To put the Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant (ETS) to the test, I applied it to a severely faded plastic windshield cowl. For a car that sits outside 24/7 in the Florida sun, any trim that isn't protected will fade within a matter of months, even when new.

For best results, thoroughly clean the surface that you're applying ETS to. Any all purpose cleaner will do the trick, such as DP Cleanse-All or Optimum Powerclean. This will ensure proper bonding of the ETS.

A little bit goes a long way, so use sparingly!

The German Polish N’ Wax Applicator works great for applying ETS because it's easy to hold and the dense foam allows the product to stay on the face of the applicator.

You can see how a little bit of product goes a long way. For best results, thoroughly work in ETS to the surface that's being treated. In most instances, a second coat is not necessary.

If too much product is applied, buff dry with a clean, dry microfiber towel.

Check out the dark, satin finish that ETS provides on this plastic windshield cowl. ETS dries almost immediately after being applied. Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant bonds to the surface and will not run or streak when it gets wet.

Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant also works well as a dedicated wheel sealant. After applying ETS to a wheel or any other type of metal trim, buff the product after applying a thin, even coat. Treating wheels with ETS with not only enhance the appearance, but will also make future cleaning much easier.

For application of tires, a foam tire applicator works best. Here is what the tire of this Civic looks like prior to Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant being applied.

A thin even coat is all it takes. Thoroughly work the product in to the tire.

Here is what the tire looks like after ETS is applied. It leaves a dark, rich finish that isn't overly glossy. It also dries to the touch almost immediately after being applied.

The chrome bumper of this Ford Falcon was also protected with Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant. This will keep the metal from corroding and oxidizing over time. It will also make future cleaning easier, all while enhancing the appearance.

Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant is very easy to use and will provide months of durable polymer protection on all exterior trim.

It's available in 4oz, 8oz, and 16oz sizes.

More.

Before ETS applied

The Cobra Flex Foam Tire Applicator works great for applying ETS because of the firm, dense foam, and the fact that it's easy to handle and won't slip out of your hand.

After a thin, even coat of Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant is applied to the tire, the appearance is enhanced and the tire will be protected for months.

After ETS applied

What's great about Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant is that it serves a dual purpose. It's much more than just a rubber, vinyl, and tire protectant, it can also protect and enhance the appearance of the wheels too.

When applying ETS to wheels and other metal trim, buff it off after the initial application. ETS goes on extremely thin, so use it sparingly.

Wolfgang ETS works so well and is so easy to use, I find myself using it at every available opportunity. This next test was on a friend's 2010 Toyota Corolla. Although the vehicle is still fairly new, it sits outside 24/7 and the plastic exterior trim gets beat on every day by the intense Florida sun. It has never been cared for and took away from what's otherwise a great looking vehicle.

After thoroughly cleaning the plastic trim with Detailer's Pro Cleanse-All Exterior Cleaner, I applied a THIN coat of the Wolfgang ETS using the German Polish N' Wax Applicator. As you can see in the picture below, the left side has been treated while the right side is still faded and dull. It only took about two pea sized drops to do nearly half of the windshield cowl.

Wolfgang ETS dried almost immediately after applying it and required no additional buffing. The plastic windshield cowl on this Corolla looks better than new and is protected for months.

I used to be on the look out for swirls, but now I can't help but notice all the faded, discolored plastic trim that is evident on almost all new vehicles. I always have a bottle of Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant on hand ready to restore and protect all the neglected plastic trim that I encounter.

A brand new Expedition can run upwards of $55,000 and like most other vehicles on the road from the past thirty years, it features plastic exterior trim. If you don't protect this plastic trim right away, it's going to fade and discolor over time. Not only does this take away from the overall appearance of the vehicle, but it also hurts the resale value.

50/50

Finished!
