When to wax a new car.

Even Lambo's from the factory come with holograms in the paint. Most likely your Lexus has holograms in it. I would be polishing that paint to remove all imperfections and to get that maximum gloss if I were you.

no
polishes contain abrasives to level the paint and removes swirls etc
waxes are used to protect the polished paint afterwards. The oils in waxes are more durable than the carrier oils in polishes which are just there to provide lubrication for the abrasives to do their job.
if you were to wax then use a polish, you'd take off the wax you just put on.

This is a great thread - thanks all.
One thing:
NO new car - ESPECIALLY a Porsche - has zero miles. None.
One thing:
do it right away, dont get the misconseption that the car is new so there are no issues with the paint. a friend of mine just bought a brand new porcshe gt3 with 0 miles on it. he took delivery and brought it straight to his detailer. long story short, paint correction took 11 hours.
