However, I do a thorough detail once a week and spray detail as needed. The GS hardly gets driven so sometimes this varies. But I really try to stick to the once a week detail!

As men, especially as Lexus owners, that car has got to be shining. Shining to the point were I can use the exterior of my car as a mirror. There's a good fuul serve car wash place that just added a Rain-X device that'll spray the solution on your entire car as it's coming out. But I only go there every 2 months or so to have the works done for my car. Every two weeks I'll hand wash it and wax it (both cream wax & spray detailing wax). I could go past 2 weeks and the car still looks good with the exeception of the windshield, tires, and wheels. Whether it's a GS or Camry, protecting that car's exterior is a must.

I usually take it to Sewell or Park Place Lexus Dealership to wash my RX once every two weeks, and it's FREE. They also vaccum the carpets and clean the dash board. While they wash it, I use their computer and have a coffee. I have never washed myself.

Down here in Orlando, around this time of year, we get these flying bugs called "Love Bugs" (I couldn;t make the name up :-)) There are tons of them! They actually splat quite well, they leave nothing but the worst acid behind, no limbs or wings just the white like acid that will eat your paint off if you leave it on the paint too long, (2 or 3 days!) So I do that each night since these bugs are in season right now I am detailing the front each night, but I like to wsah every week.
I'm sure I will run accross posts on tips to keep the watter spots off of Black Lex's but any tips that someone may want to add are most certainly welcome, since black is a tough color to keep like new!
