Default Removing cigarettes smell ?

Hello,

A few days ago I bought 2008 ES 350 with 25K at Lexus dealer in Burbank, CA
Car looks like new in and out. After a couple days the car started to smell very bad with cigarettes smell. I nor my wife dont smoke so this make even worse.
We going to send car to auto detail and do ozoning.
Do you suggest anything else? to remove the smell. I hope it will goes away otherwise .... it will be my first and last L

Weird it didnt smell like that at the time of purchase and the onset started a few days later. I wonder if there was left over residue that was unleashed.

Yeah that's weird that the smell just suddenly appeared. Try using Dakota Odor bomb, I have used it with great results, with the detailing, this should solve the problem here is the link from Amazon for the 'bomb':

I had gass spill in a vehicle one time and I used dryer towels, and apple slices. Took the smell out. I'd also try wiping down all the leather surfaces with a leather cleaner.

Assuming your car is a CPO - Take it back to the dealer and see what they will do for you.

I would go to an expert on this. Either a good quality detailer or a company who does smoke/fire restoration as their business. Try to find either one of them and let them tell you if they can get rid of it or not. If it smells then no payment. Good luck.

Also, change the cabin filter, it won't be more than a few bucks, but anything helps.

Your gonna base buying another Lexus on whether or not the smoke smell dissipates? Ok... But I have heard that ozium works pretty well.

Yeah, I don't think it's L's fault the car smells like smoke....

Whenever safely possible, leave the windows open to help air the car out

Its just wierd that it started after a couple of days.... is the smell only there when the engine is running or is it constantly there even when the engine is not running? The fixes above will work if its the material (leather) that is the source but if its not the source the smell will come back. Thats not really L's fault unless they knew about it and ommitted it.

You sure wifey doesn't smoke when you're not with her or give rides to friends that maybe smoke and carry the smell inside?

Gotta ask...

Change the cabin filter, and when I was in Japan I also bought some type of spray that you would spray into all the vents. Worked perfectly, I'm sure you can find something similar if you searched.

look into So2Pure from Carpro. It is not a coverup, it will destroy the odor source.

it's pretty powerful stuff. Have not used it yet but intend to. My dad's car smells like an ashtray and I felt sorry for my mom so i started researching this problem...
