Default Painters tape on new paint?

I had my hood and bumper painted a week ago and I have to make a trip to Orlando this weekend...about 600 miles RT. I know the paint has not had time to cure, but would it be safe to apply blue painters tape to prevent any chips to the new paint?

NO. There is a chance the paint will come off with the tape when you remove it. I think Meguiars has a body shop safe glaze you can apply for some minor protection for the trip.

Again, do not use any tape on freshly painted panels.
