Default Polishing Headlights

Hey All!
I've the got the dreaded headlight problem, but just got a spare pair of lights! So i'm going to undertake the task of cleaning them out! I know the procedure and i've read almost all of the threads concerning this. But I do have a few more questions!

1) What grit wet sandpaper should I use?
2) What polish should I use (Avail. in Canada)
3) I have Turtle Wax Scratch and Swirl Remover right now, and a handheld polisher. Is that enough to get rid of the swirl marks in the plastic after I sand it? Or do I need to fill it with a type of hard wax? (I don't know much about sanding, waxing and polishing)

Thanks for your replies!
Michael

2000 grit, make sure to keep it wet, then the 3M two part cleaner and polish, or Plexus/Novus or the equivalent. Use a wheel if you have one, otherwise you can do it by hand, but it'll take a few hours.

I've been looking to buy Plexus and Novus heavy scratch remover but they have never heard of them everywhere I checked. Where can you find them?

Nick, just get the 3M kit, you need to buy two bottles, both will cost you about $20, it works great, just finished a set of lamps for 'Mor-power' using 2000 grit and the 3M products, they came out sparkling.

hey hellasboy
I got my Novus from http://www.airsource1.com/, just look for Novus.
I ordered Novus Polish Sampler #s 1,2,3, and I think they are good size.

I never tried 3M before, is it good?

I can see that my headlight cover turning yellow again if you see it from side. how often you guys polish them?

Whatever Lex used, I highly reccommend it 'cuz it works! Here is an example of his handy-work...

btw, my turbo from Toyomoto won't be delivered anytime soon.. They were attending 3 races this month so didn't have time to touch my kit... reaching the 8th week now...)

Thx bro. Sorry to hear about that Toyomoto kit, it's unfortunate that track time has to take precedence over a customer's order (especially after 2 months), if Lance is so busy why aren't the parts in stock? I understand that he hand-fabricates the piping and so on, but aren't you waiting on a turbo and other 'out-of-the-box' parts? I'm personally not very patient, not for several thousand dollars, but at least you know you're getting a top-notch kit with all the guesswork already done for you. Let me know how the progress comes.

What i'm worried about is not being able to get the scratches buffed out of the headlight after. Do I just buff it? Or what kind of polish/scratch remover did you use? How long did it take each light?
