Default Lexus Leather care (Cleaner and Conditioner)

Hi, I bought the leather care products from lexus. My question is how should I apply it? do I spray on the leather seat and then use a microfiber towel or spray on the microfiber towel? Never done it before need some advice thanks.

You might say I'm a freak, but for the cleaner I spray it on and wipe off with a small microfiber, but for the conditioner, I apply it by hand so less is lost to the absorbent fabric.

I believe the Lexus products are rebranded Lexol products. I've heard the Lexus products leaves a slightly oily residue and makes the leather a bit shinier.

I was told at the dealer to spray the stuff on a piece of cloth then use it on the seats so you wont clog the holes in the leather if you have the perforated seats.

Ell_Y if you use hand for conditioning wouldn't you use A LOT of it?

I bought it from Sewell Lexus online parts.

people have different methods.

I do a quick once over with a regular bar of soap and a microfiber. I then do my front seats with the cleaner (orange bottle) let it sit; then apply the rear. I clean off the front with another microfiber then do the back seats.

I then liberally apply the conditioner (brown bottle) with another microfiber. I let it sit for an hour or so then wipe off with another microfiber. Sometimes I do another layer of conditioner. Then I do a cursory wipedown with another microfiber.

Some go as far as sealing the seats overnight or a couple days with saran wrap on a hot day or an enclosed garage with the heat up. This allows the leather to really absorb the conditioner.

At least for the 2GS, I really don't notice any residue, the leather absorbs the conditioner pretty well and really softens the seats. If anything, I would want the Lexol conditioner to be even thicker and more absorbant.

I try and do this at least twice a year. I have a 99 2GS and my leather looks practically brand new. But I'm sure my tints help alot by keeping the sun from drying and cracking the leather. Good stuff, worth every penny.

If using the Lexus products, spray the cleaner on a foam pad and work up a lather then apply. Wipe down with a damp MF and rinse again with another dampened MF then wipe dry with a dry MF. Apply the conditioner with another foam pad and wipe off excess with a mf and buff dry.
