Default what to use to clean inside of a tinted window?

Ok, so I used 409 and windex to clean my windows and that was clearly a mistake. It made my windows all foggy and smeared. What should I be using to clean the inside of my windows?

Never use ammonia based products on tinted windows, it can cause discoloration of the film. You should use ammonia free window cleaners (ex: stoner's invisible glass cleaner among many other auto glass cleaners). Also you should use microfiber towels instead of paper towel to avoid scratching the tint film.

Thanks, Ill go get some today. I had to just use water to clean up some of the mess i made. The water left a mess of its own, but a lot better than what the windex did.

I use stoners or sprayway with an MF or those heavy duty blue shop paper towels.

Ryan, go to Home Depot, Sams, or Costco and get some Invisible Glass or Sprayway Glass Cleaner. Its what I use on all my details.

Just make sure whatever you use doesn't have amonia in it. My tint guy told me specifically not to use anything with it, such as most windex products.

Ammonia and alcohol are bad for tints as are any towels that scratch. Test your towels on an old CD to see if they scratch before using on your tint.

Stoner's Invisible Glass is by far the best window cleaner I've used.

I use Stoners too most of the time.

You can use Windex on tinted window, just don't use the blue formula - That has ammonia in it. Their other formulas/colors are safe. Someplace on the label it will say contains no ammonia.
