No More Pro Detailer Click 'n Brag Allowed Unless You Are A Forum Sponsor!!

Attention Professional and Semi-Professional Detailers:

Effective immediately we will no longer allow before/after detail picture threads (also called "Click 'n Brag") on Club Lexus except those posted by active Club Lexus members for detail activities their own personal vehicles OR approved Club Lexus sponsors.

Over the last two months we've had a flood of detailers joining our forum simply to promote their business with photo threads of their work. I appreciate a well-detailed car and the work it takes as much as anyone, BUT it's taking an exceptional amount of moderator attention to get you guys to follow our forum rules. It is also not fair to our CL Vendor Sponsors (including professional detailers and detail products companies) who help keep Club Lexus up and running free of charge to our 90,000 members for you to expect to solicit business here and skirt our forum vendor rules via 'click and brag' posting.

We have tried an experiment to allow these photo posts by asking those professional detailers who do join to share their detailing and product knowledge and insights rather than just post picture threads, but for the most part this request has failed. Pro detailers continue to join, post solicitations, list their contact information in posts and their profiles, and sell services via private message.

After June 28, 2008 if you are not a Club Lexus Vendor Sponsor and you post about detailing a vehicle 'for a customer':

• you will receive a formal forum infraction and your post will be removed
• your forum private message (PM) capability will be disabled
• any website you list for contact in your post or profile will be censored such that it cannot be listed on our forum
• any email or phone number you list for contact in your post or profile will be censored such that it cannot be read on our forum

If you create a second such post, you will be banned from Club Lexus.

I'm sorry to have to take such a drastic step, but the blatant advertising and promotion has continued daily despite an ongoing effort from the moderator team.
