If it is polished, then does it have clear coat or clear anodize?
A polished non-clear coat rim can be repaired easier than the other types.
Let us know what you have, so we can answer you properly.

It is not painted. It looks like polished and not sure if clear coat. How do I find out? It is a 2004 SC430. These were put on by first owner to replace the Pebble Beach pie plates! They have 5 spokes and are almost bluish towards the rim (my car is the light blue PB edition). I live in Maryland/DC area - is there someone around here who could look at them and tell me what they are?
Thanks, Rustito

They are Aluminum Alloy wheels. They are the original wheels for the 2004 SC430 Pebble Beach edition. owner switched out the center pie plates for silver 5 spoke centers. The rims have a very slight blue tint to them - not sure if that was special for the Pebble Beach 04 which is light blue.

There are some write ups on some Audi site that had a good how to repair curb rash on Euro cars with silver rims but I can't find it right now and unfortunately you need the exact match in color for the spray which might not be available for Lexus rims. They sanded the rim, applied some kind of putty, sanded that until smooth, then they sprayed the rim with the paint and sprayed clearcoat and it came out pretty good.
I have some curb rash on my L tuned OZ super turismo rims and I cannot get the paint code for these rims anywhere. I even emailed OZ and their main European distributors and they said they did not even know what color their own rim was or how to get paint for it which sounded like BS to me.

Thanks for the links. I was worried about matching the color - although it looks very silver with only a slight blue cast to it - you have to look hard to even see the blue. I found an alloy repair kit on ebay and wonder if this type of repair would blend in with the rim color - might not be perfect but would hide it better. Or maybe should just ask Lexus dealer.
