Default Ultimate break dust repellant (RejeX vs. NXT 2.0)

Ultimate break dust repellent (RejeX vs. NXT 2.0)

I know one can take care of rims the same way you take care of your paint. I have been hearing good things about both products when use on wheels to repel brake dust.

Any truth to this?

I'm thinking you want a wheel sealant more than a normal wax because the wax will melt wont it? O_o

Not sure who of us you are talking to.. maybe both. I just know I used NXT 2.0 (Wax) on my paint, and it worked well. I also know the paint gets well over 100 degree's F. on warmer/hot days -- And doesn't melt. So not sure if a wheel would or not.

I've heard of waxing your wheels,.. just never have done it. I think that is part of the question, unless there is a NXT 2.0 (Wheel product) out there I am unaware of.

But, yes, a specific WHEEL sealant is probably the way to go. However I don't recall seeing one in your general automotive stores, maybe I've just overlooked it.

NXT Tech Wax 2.0, while called a wax is really a sealant. It is a pretty slick sealant and does make the wheels shed brake dust fairly easily. I use it on my wheels when I wax and follow up with Quik Wheel Detailer after every wash. QWD is super slippery and almost nothing sticks to it.

Good stuff -- I think I actually may have used NXT 1.0 not 2.0 -- That bottle looks different than mine. Which is good, because I was extremely pleased with what I used,.. knowing something is definitely better is great.

Bringing the car in for the paint in an hour -- Wish I could get it back same day.. hehe..

So, use the sealant on the wheels, or anythign else that will seal basically.. Sealing/waxing wheels doesn't seem like a chore at all to me. I would mind that one bit as sort of a last thing on the exterior. Or to just include when you apply in the first place. Though I'm sure you would want them extra clean before 'sealing' them.

Poorboys, Detailers Pride and Wheel Wax all make sealants for wheels.

They can be purchased from http://www.autogeek.net/

I use zaino on my rims. It doesn't repel brake dust but is does make it a lot easier to clean.
