Default Any Auto Detailers Out there?

I am actually starting a business soon, and i was wondering if there are any auto detailers on this site; whether by profession or on the side. If so, what products are you using in your area? Any helpful hints on getting my business started? What are some of the services you offer along with detailing? Are you mobile or stable business? Any tips on marketing?

Sorry for all the questions, but i figure if anyone knows, CL members will know. Thanks in advance.

John

My business is a side thing, but I have so many jobs lined up that it can be a full-time business. Unfortunately, that's the "now", and there's no guarantee of future jobs, except a few maintenance cars.

Do you have regular customers? The best marketing is WOM. Next best might be Craigslist. These are free and you want to keep expenses to a minimum, so I wouldn't go out and do a newspaper or radio/tv ad right away.

My products vary depending on the vehicles and the conditions that they're in. Be sure you can take on the worst jobs imaginable and make sure you have all the products to do it. Not only polishes, compounds, sealants, and waxes, but brushes, towels, applicators, and machines (orbital and rotary). New customers almost always come to me with water spots on both paint and windows, so make sure you can remove those.

Good luck!
