Thumbs up Scratch Repair Cost?

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum. Loving my 2007 IS250. My car just got scratched a couple of days ago from someone parked next to me. I think they opened their door right into my rear passenger door. I'm not sure how to tell how deep the scratch is. I've heard about "clear coat" but how do u tell if its into that?! I also have a small scratch on the rear bumper. Is it possible to buff these out? Any idea on how much it might cost for a good buffing job for the two scratches?! Thanks!

Well, it depends on the severity of the scratch.

Got pictures?

If you need to repaint a spot due to a scratch or scrape, a good technician should be able to color-match repaint any metallic color for about $300 a panel. Add a lot more if you need bodywork from a severe dent.

Otherwise, if the paint is good, but you have a small dent, paintless dent removal (PDR) is rather cheap at about $75.

I use the fingernail test to determine the severity of a scratch. If you can't feel it with your fingernail, it should be relatively easy to buff out.

Sounds about right, they quoted me about 500 Euros to get scratch/ dent combo on my passenger side door fixed. It's still not fixed smh.
