[QUOTE=IAGS400;2327249]I don't think Rain-X has a windshield wax, they do have a paint wax.
They do now... label doesn't differentiate or state why it's better than the original... but I figured I'd try it.

i am definately NOT saying rainX is a bad product... it's great... i'd definately rather drive with it than without it... just that aquapel is better...
on my old AE86 corolla GTS, i put rainX on, brand new TOYOTA wiper blades... all at the same time... instant chatter... drove it for 3 or 4 days, and the chatter went away as the rainX started to wear off... then every time i rainX'd my windshield again, my wipers would chatter...
aquapel did not make my wiper blades chatter at all... yes, it's more money, but you also don't really see the lines left from your wipers kuz there's a film of rainX on the windshield...
aquapel is newer, and is proven to have better molecular bonding with the windshield... which is why it lasts longer per application than rainX... in my opinion, it's worth the $10/application... kuz it lasts 6 months in heavy vancouver rain, whereas rainX lasts 2 weeks... tops... and costs $10/bottle, which lasts 6 months...
that is my opinion... feel free to disagree...

I use Rain-x but will try the aquapel.
I think there's a special way(s) to have the best results with rain-x application. I apply it to the windshield and let it sit about 10-15 mins...then take a water soaked towel and litely drag it over the windshield, finally take a clean dry towel and lightly take the water off....my windshield is super clear with no oily residue day or nite and the water flies off like crazy in rainy conditions. unfortunately the stuff is only good for about 2 weeks....well it'll still work, just at a reduced level.

I bought 4 applications of Aquapel off of ebay for $25 shipped. I put it on about 2 weeks ago. Of course, it hasn't rained up here since, so I really haven't had a chance to see how it works. I do know that when I spray my windshield, the water literally races off the glass. It was very easy to put on and supposedly will last for 6 months or more. I'll post up more info once I've had a chance to actually observe this stuff in action.
