Default Removing wood trim kit

I just got my 2000 GS 400, and the previous owner had put some really crappy wood trim practically everywhere (gauge cluster, all the vents, over the stereo, etc.).

I had a friend at an auto accessories shop (who installs wood trim) remove it with a heat gun. All the trim came off nicely, but there is a lot of residue from the glue that held the wood trim in place. My friend suggested I take it to a detail shop to see what they could do. I'm worried that to have it look acceptable I'm going to need some more fake crap on my car

Has anyone ever removed glue residue from these areas of your car, and how did you do it?

Thanks!

Try a 50/50 mix of water and alcohol.
