Default How to remove Gum from leather?

a friend of mine has a little boy that stuck gum all over his back seat it melted & is not very hard to remove.

Do you guys have any tips on how he should remove it & what to use?

Thank you

Default Easy fix

Now it depends on whether the gum still has some sugar in it. If it does a little ice and a old credit card to scrape with should do the trick. If not some peanut butter. Put the peanut butter on the gum and let it sit for a few. If you're in a rush work it into the gum. Then take a damp cloth and rub it off.

Is that a typo? Not sure I understand if the gum isn't very hard to remove. I'm *guessing* you meant it IS very hard to remove, right or you wouldn't be asking?

If so, it kind of depends on what kind of fabric it's attatched to, but here are numerous tips from Autopians;

I have used the ice + Goo Gone or Goof Off. I now use a compressed air cylinder that i use with my airbrush, in place of ice. Goo Gone is safer, as Goof Off is solvent based and you have to test it on a number of materials first. Has worked for me. Use compressed air if you have it, as it'll freeze the gum up faster and harder. Good luck.
