Default Reupholstered Leather Seats

Didnt find too much from the search...

How many of you have reupholstered your seats with new leather/colors??

I am thinking about getting Blue/White leather in my car instead of the beige/cream leather i have now...

Any recommendation on shops or where to find the parts?

Very nice indeed, Rasheed. Did you do the installation yourself or have it done professionally? If done yourself, how hard was it to do a good job? I assume the front seats had to be removed from the car, right? You had this done after EOS v.3 right? I don't think I remember seeing the 2 tone upholstery at the meet.

yup it was at the meet thats where the pics are at if you look at the background thanks but i dont want to jack this guys thread, i had it done professionally although i could have done it myself but lack of transportation and time i wasn't able to, he finished in about 6 hours charged me $250 a upholstery shop in Lodi, Calif. and yes you have to take out the front seats which isn't hard at all. four bolts someone has a write up on seat cover installation here. Thanks for the compliments though.

NP guys...i was going to ask those questions anyways

$250 is not bad at all considering folks around here charge insane for labor per hour rates...

If anyone has done the installation themselves...how hard would it be?

Removing the seats isnt too hard...I have done it in my M3...my question is...When i removed the seats in the M3, my SRS Airbag light came on...would this happen in the SC??

BTW, sorry to sound like a "n00b" but what are EOS v3....?

One more question, What color do you guys think looks most like the Dark Blue exterior (don't know the exact paint code) from the list at leatherseats.com ?

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!

I think if you don't turn on the ignition while the seats are out there shouldn't be any problem with the airbag light. I know for a fact that's the case with removing the instument cluster. As long as the ignition is off, no problem. Even if you have to reset the warning its just a little dance with the OBD terminal under the dash.

EOS v.3 is shorthand for the Northern California Chapeter's annual End Of Summer meet. This year's was version 3 , held the end of August. A great time was had by all.

When you mentioned the SRS light coming on in your M3, I thought perhaps it has something to do with side impact airbags. Then I remember unlike Lexus, who puts side impact airbags in the backrest of the seat, BMW side impact airbags deploy from the door panel (at least in all of the models I've seen). Perhaps the light was related to some sort of seat occupancy sensor for the SRS (though I'm thinking the system would assume that the driver's seat was always occupied ) I've pulled the seats out of my '96 ES without ever triggering a light, so I'm thinking your '95 SC should be similar.

If you want a great deal on leather upholstery, check out: http://www.katzkin.com/SITE/HTML/index.html
I had new seats, headrests and center console done on my '91 LS400 and the work looked better than new and very reasonable. The company will recommend local installers in your area. It's best to have a shop do the work since any problem is theirs and not yours. Good luck!
