For some reason or another, I can't get my windows sparkling clean! Everytime I use windex, it leaves smudges and water marks. IS it wise to use windex on the inside of the window where the tints are at?

thanks

Please lemme know what u guys use to clean your windows.!

I wouldn't recommend it.
Their is a auto glass cleaner that is safe for your tint that is sold at WalMart and any other car store.
Usual anything with ammonia is BAD for the tint!

Ditto...

Loule is correct........ No ammonia based cleaner...

Windex "without" ammonia would be ok and a soft cloth....and don't use newspaper(or any rough paper/cloth) it scratches the film....

Thanks! Windex does NOTHING for my windows! Hmm I assume its unsafe for chrome wheels as well? When I use windex, it makes my window even dirtier for some apparent reason.

For tinted windows, I would recommend a product called Plexus.

For the outsides and front window, Stoner's Invisible Glass should do the trick.

Anything non-ammonia based should technically be fine for both.

loule,

I agree about the cleaner sold at Walmart. (I wish I could remember the name.) They have it in the auto dept and it's made specifically for cars so it has no ammonia and it's made to cut the build up on the windows from the off-gassing inside the car. Good stuff.

Why would you want to use Windex on Chrome wheels??

Just curious..

2SAVVY, I read that on this website in Q&A section. To clean chrome rims, windex was ok. I think thats what it said

Thumbs down Windex on tint

I would not use any of the windex or window cleaners with ammonia. A few years ago windex was only available in the blue (ammonia based) and the green (vinegar based). The saying used to be (when tinted windows are concerned) Blue is Bad and Green is Good. I also remember a product by Eagle one for Plastic and Lexan products that seemed to work well. You can always use Pledge (furniture polish) it'll help keep the window tinting lubricated so that there's less chance of scrathing if the felt gasket on your door has a lot of dirt/dust on it.

Thumbs up Window Cleaner

The non-ammonia window cleaner I've bought at Walmart is called Clearview by Turtle Wax. I also saw it today at Pep Boys.

Nothing fancy. It just does a great job.
