Hey Guys,
This is an interesting topic for nearly all premium cars now that leather is being used in almost everything from seats to dash to steering wheels, ect... Personally I use SmartLeather cleaner and conditioner on my tan interior. It goes on dry, lasts long and smells great!

No cleaner/ protectant is going to repair that bolster. That will need a few restoration products. That said, using an oily or silicone laden conditioner will worsen the damage so if you are not going to do the repair now, use the LM cleaner and protection cream. The LM Protection cream is water based and won't degrade the topcoat bond to the remaining area surrounding the damage.
Clearly you can see that the constant abrasion of the leather removed the topcoat. The repair will require a cleaning, sanding and respray of pigment and clear coat. This can be a DIY but it may yield more satisfactory results by seeking out an experienced refinishing specialist in your area. This will also require precise color matching and grain lifting to make this damage disappear. These skills are usually beyond the experience level of the DIYer.

In the meantime, I'd attack that stain with a 1:4 mix of Woolite and warm to hot water or use Leather Masters Strong Leather Cleaner and agitate with a soft nylon brush. Wipe up with a white 100% cotton towel to see if the stain is coming up. If the towel remains white you can stop as a cleaner has done as much as it can.
If the stain has already set, the issue is restoration and not cleaning. Restoration is not a DIY project. You likely may need to see a leather restoration specialist to have that piece refinished. Whatever you do, you don't want to make the situation worse so now is the time to see a professional. Time is your enemy.
* Leather Masters Ink Lifter: This is an easy to use product for the removal of ink & lipstick from Protected (P) Leathers. It works best when used with our system of Leather Protection Cream on the Leather first. It is designed for removal of recent (3-5 days) ink on Leather. It will not remove permanent markers from Leather. Leather type for P only.

There is a company named FIBRENEW that is nationwide, here in SC the rep is Jeff Shupe, and he is a perfectionist, this is the only company here that is OEM qualified for Lexus leather, I am totally amazed at the technology and quality of work, and they are not too pricey. I would not touch any leather on any auto without consulting a expert. After 40 years in the car business I have learned this lesson, and I have seen many mishaps, that said, Please consult one of these companies before doing yourself. If you take your car to Lexus dealer this is who they call, and then mark it up. There are many leather products available for cleaning and renew, but beware, some will alter the color slightly, and in time ruin your seats.

Unsure if this was covered, but too many pages to sift through. I just picked up a '13 RX F-Sport. Looking into protecting the new leather, something to make it look like day 1 years from now. What do you all suggest? I'm seeing leather masters a lot. Should go with the cleaner and protector? Not looking for something greasy. Thanks!

Go with Lexol
I have had two BMWs and one Subaru with leather seats and i have cleaned them once a year with Lexol Cleaner and treat them every four months with Lexol leather treatment. The BMW was 18 years old when I sold it and the buyer could not believe the good condition of the leather seats.

Ballpoint pen ink removal
Let me first say that this remedy is only for vinyl - not leather. The application of a hairspray called Alberto VO5 has been used successfully for years for eliminating ink stains from vinyl. Use of this on leather is not recommended since it contains solvents that will break down the top coating on leather. Maybe you can use this tip on something else though...

Just became an owner of a brand new rx350 with black interior. I am paranoid about keeping the leather clean and conditioned to avoid cracking and whatnot, especially in the Texas heat.
Looks like I will need to get me some LM cleaner and protection cream.
What are some suggestions to use on the doors and dash?
