For real which is the best ?
Is it better to tint your car windows with a classy black tint or a colored tint like a "Rayban" tint that is like a silver black greenish tint ?

I love flat black on black. If you have a clean car and clean windows it looks like the whole side of the car is painted. It just flows so great IMO. I have 5% on my black SC and i get compliments form people all the time saying how much they love it (despite my ghetto wheels).

I personally like the grayish color of tint but I don't like having to change it after so many years when it color shifts or turns purple. If you don't keep the car that long, no big deal.
I had Llumar metallic installed and the comfort in the car was dramatic afterwards. It has a brownish hue but I find it still compliments the pearl white and silver well. My car is dime a dozen as I see "myself" all over town.

LLumar has a site describing the characteristics of their current films. You get what you pay for and a quality film will last a long time. The dye based films are susceptable to color shifts and fading over time. Given that the difference in installed price of a dye over a metallic is like $10-$45 a car, it makes sense to get a higher line quality film with improved features.

The tinted stuff ALWAYS turns purple. The higher quality brands take a little longer, but it still turns. Now, if you can find the tinted stuff with a lifetime warranty, go for it. You can always make them do it again. This is going to be difficult to find in reputable shops, however, because they know the stuff turns. It wont, however, be nearly as effective at saving your leather or keeping you cool, no matter how dark you go with it.
I agree that the tinted does look better, initially, but the reduction in performance wasnt worth it to me. Then again, I live in the Deep South. Formula One makes a tint (the Ultimate line, I believe) in metallic that is designed to have much less reflectivity, thus making it look almost like the tinted stuff. That was the compromise I chose. It still does have a slight (very slight) brownish tint, but its not reflective like most of the metallic tints from other companies. And the performance is outstanding!
btw, I have no affiliation whatsoever with the aforementioned tint manufacturer. Ive just been very happy with it personally.
