Default Will Al Gore run?

So will he or won't he?

I think Edwards has already destroyed his chances.
Obama is doing a nice job, but probably can't beat Hillary.
Kerry already sobbed his way out.

So Al, Nobel nominee, Mr. Green global whining scaremonger - will he run?

I think no, but I sure hope he does!

Gore, IMO, HAS to run....the pressure on him will be enormous. Like it or not, as an ex-VP, he, technically, is the country's highest-ranking Democrat...something no other candidate can say, even Pelosi as Speaker. Bill Clinton, of course, after two terms, is out, and Hillary, though of course having been in the White House with him, held no formal position other than just being First Lady. Even now, as a Senator, she would be somewhat overshadowed by Gore having been the last Democratic VP.

To think I actually voted for him in 2000.

You guys are such a whiner, ain't you ? Trying to beat on Al Gore, again ???? The guy had already WON the Presidency once before it was stolen from him... And in his new role, he has shined like a true star, while the one who usurped his position has sank like The Titanic. How ironic what fate brings to two people... stark contrast isn't it ?

Edwards hasn't lost anything.... Neither has Hillary won anything. What is more interesting is that you on the right cannot seem to have any enthusiasm for the GOP candidates.... All you do is whine about the Dems. Maybe you already see the futility in 2008 for the GOP... Does it matter who they present ? They are sure gonna lose, with the albatross of the past 6 years of the Bush Presidency tied neatly around their collective necks...

I'd rather have you start a debate about the GOP candidates... whoever they are

Well running is good for the cardiovascular system, so hopefully Gore will go out and take a run after eating all of those chocolates after his 2000 loss.

As far as whiners go, just listen to yourself here. Gore LOST the 200 election, fairly and squarely....by EXACTLY 537 votes. Get over it.

And, BTW, I was NOT beating on Al Gore or whining about him...just responding to the opening thread. As the country's highest-ranking Democrat ( an ex-VP) , there will obviously be a lot of pressure on him to run. I can't predict that he WILL run, but theoretically he HAS to, unless he just wants to get out of politics....and, this time, Kerry probably won't be in the race to compete as a potential competitor. In fact, the odd thing is why he didn't run in 2004.

Al Gore should run again. Heck, he was elected president in 2000, but the righties here will continue to hail to the thief. Criminal!

Um, strike a nerve or something? Simple question - do you think Al Gore will run?

This thread isn't about GOP candidates. Want to start one - go ahead.

Plenty of time for that. This is about whether rotund Al will BECOME a candidate this time around.

Shawn you mean in their left mind?

Every newspaper report I saw that thoroughly investigated the voting couldn't see how Gore could have won. Were there problems? No doubt, but goofey chads and paper ballots weren't the invention of the GOP. And Gore's legal team seemed to blow it tactically as I recall.

Now if you guys are referring to the fact that Gore got more votes overall and thus should have been President, as you know that's not how the system works and that also is not a GOP invention.

Regardless, that's 7 years ago, and this is about His Corpulent Splendidness - will he run.

Unless Gore is interested in being a VP again, I doubt he will run because Clinton is running again.

I don't think he will run but he should he had the most popular vote in 2000.
