7'9" Sun Ming Ming will make his Nighthawks debut on Saturday night
he's gonna be here in md for a short term and will leave for the nba next yr im sure
but imma see him play this sat in rockville. i'll try and snap a shot standing next to him and see close i can get to his arm pit
http://youtube.com/watch?v=VOKnw6p1q...etball+legends

he only scored 6pts and sat out most of the game
he's gonna need training by the pros to get use to American bball
not that he was struggling, he just doesn't know how to play real bball yet

It's wierd cause you'd think someone that tall would dominate but it doesn't work out that way, just ask Munate and Muresan and even in HS Basketball, we have a kid playing for a local private christian school that is 6'-11" tall and is only averaging 16 ppg, in a league where 95% of the players are 5'-8" to 6'-2", I think the tallest center i've seen him play against is only 6'-4", you'd think he'd score on every possession

just because you are tall doesn't mean you will be a good center or even a good scorer....my proof? look at shawn bradley...he was i think 7'6 and he couldn't block worth a damn and wasnt a very good scorer. You have people like ben wallace who at 6'8 is under sized but always leads the league in blocks or you have kids like dwight howard who can put up huge scoring numbers at barely 7'0. and just wait until andrew bynum gets better.

why cant i be this tall " i wish i was little bit taller, i wish i was a baller "
He wears size 19 shoes, weighs at least 335 pounds (some sources say as high as 370 pounds), and stands at 7 foot 8 and 3/4 inches - making him one of the tallest living persons on the planet

Not that Bradley is my favorite bball player ever but he did average over 3 blocks a game for 6 years straight. 4 bpg in one year. How many players do you know that can do that?? Immediately these names pop into your head...Dikembe, Hakeem, duncan etc
What most ppl don't realize about abnormally tall people is this. I'm 6'5 pushin 6'6, maybe its not that tall to you, but on average, i'm almost a foot taller than a good portion of the population. I also play hoops, i may not block every shot but image a large hand with a long long arm in your face at all times...good luck. I don't block many shots but when i do play, the person i guard doesn't score more points than i can count on one hand if even that!
7'9, thats ridiculous, he wont have to jump to dunk which means no momentum which will mean he will have a short career and will be junk

I've seen this gentle giant in person here in Ventura....he was coming into eat at this BBQ place as I was leaving. I remember seeing a long azz leg stepping out of a Suburban....seriously, I'm not one to stare - but damn, my friend and I couldn't stop staring....the dude is HUGE!!!! He had to crouch to enter the restaurant doorway....he played a few games at our local community college awhile back too.....of course, he was like on display or something because the whole courtside was packed on both sides(Normally it's empty)....truly a big dude....look at all them people looking at him in the 2nd pic

Did anybody see him on the Today show this a.m.? I caught a quick segment before leaving for work. They were interviewing him outside and had a hoop setup in the background. Obviously they asked if he needed to jump to dunk the ball and when he attempted a dunk he missed. Clang ... They quickly cut to commercial right after the miss.

All these big fools are is bait for dunkers. You see a big fool like that in the key and you can't help but want to smash on him. Look at all the mega-tall bball players who have come and gone...they're all known for getting posterized.
Where's that pic of T-Mac banging on bradley and riding him like a damn horse?

You make a good point. I bet Vince Carter is salivating at the chance. Remember the French guy he dunked over...literally? Wasn't that guy supposed to be headed for the NBA (Knicks I think at the time?)
