SF Mayor Apologizes For Affair With Campaign Manager's Wife
Quote:
San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's re-election campaign manager resigned Wednesday after confronting the mayor about an affair Newsom had with his wife while she worked in the mayor's office, City Hall sources said.
Alex Tourk, 39, who served as Newsom's deputy chief of staff before becoming his campaign manager in September, confronted the mayor after his wife, Ruby Rippey-Tourk, told him of the affair as part of a rehabilitation program she had been undergoing for substance abuse, said the sources, who had direct knowledge of Wednesday's meeting.

This might not be considered news given the location.

And this poor mayor - if he wasn't a mayor, no one would ever bat an eye to someone cheating - it happens all the time...
and yes, I'd tap that...

This is the Peoples Republic of San Francisco. It would make more sense if the mayor slept with his best friend and not the guy’s wife.

As long as the person does their job, I couldn't care less.

It does however say something about the guys morals. He cheated, and lied, if he is going to do this to his friend what will he do to the people in San Francisco. Most politicians are thought of as cheaters and liars, this guy is now a confirmed cheater and liar, not good for his political career.

Well, then they wouldn't be doing their job then.
I have known at least two people in my life that other than having an affair, were upright people, but sexual urges...that's tough stuff.

An affair with his WIFE? On the contrary, given the location, that is BIG news.

When I saw San Fran, I assumed the mayor was doing the guy, not the wife....probably a publicity stunt so people doesn't think he is gay! lol
And yes I'd tap it....the girl!!!

You guys are a riot.
The prejudices and preconceived notions (in this tread) of what makes up San Francisco's very diverse 1,000,000+ is halarious. You guys only think you are funny.
Newson is an awesome mayor.
He had a really hot wife, They are in process or are divorced.
http://www.glaad.org/images/gallery/...y_gavin_lg.jpg
He cheated with his best friend's wife (sleezy for sure)
Majority of San Francisco people are not Gay.
Majority of post in this tread have a preconceived notion of what San Franciscans sexual preference is?
Stereotype SF?
Should we talk about the red neck hillbilly hicks of the Midwest?
Or the slimy rude pinstripe Guidos of the East Coast?
Please………… if you were not such a bunch of homophobes you might even come here and take a look for your self just how diverse SF is. I know you are too scared. Some gay fairy might touch you with his magic wand and turn you gay or something.
Newsome has done a lot for this city.
And more impressively has sided with the unions against the big hotel chains.
He takes the sides of minorities and working class and the less well to do folks (the people that make up the bulk of SF) just trying to get buy in a very very expensive place to live. He is nothing like your typical politician getting kick backs from Exxon and Enron.
This afair will no doubt hurt his political ambitions.

San Francisco is a very progressive city. Things are accepted here 10 years before the rest of the midwest Christian belt can even say "smoking ban in bars".
I don't think any less of his abilities to lead SF just like I didn't think any less of Clinton for geting his knob shined in the oval office.
One "job" has nothing to do with the other "job"
"FLAME SUIT ON" GO.
