Update: SoCal Halloween Beating

I remember we had this discussion last fall and it was closed. Hopefully, this one won't be. I saw this update earlier on my cell phone.

LONG BEACH – It might have been just another fight involving teens out on Halloween.
But when someone yelled “I hate whites,” the ensuing melee involving a group of black youths who attacked three white women was deemed by prosecutors to be a hate crime.

On Friday a judge agreed and convicted nine of 10 black defendants – eight of them girls – in the assault.
Judge Gibson Lee also found hate-crime enhancements against eight of the defendants to be true, along with enhancements of causing great bodily injury against six. A 12-year-old girl was acquitted.

Justice was served, and they got what they deserved, and hopefully they will learn a very valuable lesson. I think they should have to do something extrordinary for the people they've affected... just my opinion... like community service... plus some time behind bars.

No excuses for their behavior ( as we tend to get when the situation is reversed ).
