Smile Is there a way to reset engine oil warning light without bring the car to the dealer?

Hello guys.. I brought my 06 GS 300 to the dealer and as I expected it, the bill came out to be $213 for oil change and few other checkup. I wouldnt mind getting check up for 15k or 30k miles but not every oil change... PLease advise how to reset the light after an oil change. or is there a tool i can buy like BMC Rest tool to reset any waring light... thank you

Try this first:

1. With car engine OFF, hold down both the “ODO TRIP” and “RESET” buttons (located in switch box).
2. Continue holding down buttons, while you start the car.
3. Continue holding buttons (approx. 7 secs) until reset occurs.

If first method does not work, try this:

1. Push the “ODO TRIP” switch in the switch box to
change the display to blank.
2. Turn the engine switch off.
3. Turn the engine switch on with the trip meter “RESET”
switch held down.
4. Keep pushing the “RESET” switch for longer than 7
seconds after the engine switch is turned on.
After the above operation, the master warning light comes
on, a warning tone sounds and the above message
appears to inform you that the engine oil maintenance
data has been reset.

Good luck.
