Default The Hump - AWD vs RWD

I mentioned before about annoyance of that hump infront of the gas pedal. Its only on AWD model, our West Coast brothers doesn't have it Here I'm posting an exampe of EXP_Cougar car:

And, my car (pard the dirty winter mat). I could only take a good shot from above, sideways you can't see much due to a black interior:

I saw exactly what you were talking about when I went with a friend to the Lexus dealer in Toronto. From the 2 seconds I spent in the drivers seat, the hump did not bother me that much, but I am sure if I drove it around, it would have.

I take it you've not gotten used to it yet?

Regarding Remote Start, I did a detailed write-up in here (w/pictures): http://www.clublexus.com/forums/show...=248954&page=3

Regarding getting used to a hump, its less noticeable with everyday. I still find myself adjusting the right foot on a longer trips because I get more leg fatigue. But, I'm sure it will go away soon. See, because of that hump you leg is not aligned with a pedal but rather goes in 45 degrees.

My biggest concern right now is a clicky relay (read my Remote Start thread) which I'm waiting on ucmyGS350 for a resolution. The other one is that I had to place Sirius antenna on a rear right side fender since its the only place where I get reception. Here is a pic below. I think its kind of ugly in there, what do you think?

I had my XM antenna on the lower right side of the rear window. It looks a lot better there and should not have reception issues

Randy, I took a printout of your car XM antenna placement and that's exactly what they did on my car originally with Sirius antenna. And... I couldn't get a reception So, they had to temporary move it over to where it is now. XM and Sirius are very different, from bandwidth/frequency to signal strength and satellite placements...

Same reaction here for me.... "dang"..... never saw the hump before these pics as I never was in the market for an AWD car... ouch, I see now why it can be a PITA to drive with.... but, hey, if you live in a snowy part of the country, the AWD is probably a godsend sometimes so you put up with the hump if you have to...

I really hope at some point they will offer RWD version as an option instead of the mandatory AWD here in the mid atlantic/NE. region.

i have awd and never even noticed it until i read about it in CL.. it's never really bothered me even on 4hr trips. maybe because i'm 6ft and my leg goes right up and over it w/o touching it.
