Default Go Chargers!!!

Chargers are now in sole possession of first place in the AFC West and control their destiny from here on out. The only losses they suffered this season are ones in which they beat themselves.

Go Bolts!

I was about to say that. They are 3-0 without Merriman. Watch out when he gets back!

I believe they also have their next 4 games at the Q where they're undefeated...they're gonna be tough to beat. As long as they stay healthy and don't go back to Marty ball in the playoffs, they will be in control of how far they go.

I had a feeling there would be a little bit of a let down because of the Raiders record and the shutout the Bolts put on them earlier this year. That being said, they should have come out with a lot more energy since this is a rivalry game. The Chargers won't go very far in the playoffs playing like that or trying to come back from huge deficits like in the Broncos and Bengals games.

Default Raiders Shouldve won

Chargers got lucky
the Refs were on your team

that play did it for us

all the freaken controversal(sp?) plays go against us

the Superbowl Play w/ the steelers
the tuck w/ the patriots
and this dumb ass play ....atleast this one didnt mean to much
but the other 2 ....we would've been champs

...5 Time Super Bowl champs ...instead of 3 time

The funny thing about this particular play is that this rule was put in place because of a play that benefited the Raiders in a game against the Chargers back in the late 70's. Basically, a Raider fumbled the ball forward on 4th down and was recovered in the end zone for the game winning TD by the Raiders. Now there is a rule in place where if you fumble the ball foward on 4th down, it is considered an illegal forward pass and a 5 yard penalty is assessed from the spot of the fumble. In this last game, the Chargers got the 1st down even after the 5 yard penalty thus keeping the drive alive.

Having said that, I think there needs to be some change in the rules in these circumstances because the Charger receiver obviously did not intend to "throw" the ball forward. If anything, he fumbled it when he chose to spin the ball on the ground and it happened to move forward therefore the current rule saved his a$$. It will get a bit tricky if the NFL makes a change in the rules because essentially you leave it to the ref to determine the "intent" of the player.

Karma for the infamous "Holy Roller."

Even if the play went the other way the Chargers would have still found a way to win that game. Good teams beat bad teams and the Chargers are a good team and the Faiders...not so much. LT beat the Faiders 3 times with that halfback pass. When will they ever learn...

It's all down hill from here. With Baltimore losing to the Bengals, the Bolts control their destiny from here. AFC West Division championship and first round bye in the playoffs are all within reach. I have confidence that this is the year of the Bolt.

Go Chargers!!!

Yeah, that whole 3rd quarter was just one bad thing after another. All of a sudden it was an 8 point game. It was nice to see the defense pick up and LT and the offense putting up points in the 4th. They've shown that they can come back when they're down on the road and that they can finish a team off when they have a lead. They're looking good at the right time. How about the NFL TD record for LT?!!!
