Default Is getting zero mail abnormal?

I ordered a few things from different vendors last week and it was supposedly shipped early last week. And I still haven't received anything.

I check my mailbox and is literally empty, as in NO mail, not even junk mail, I ask my roomates when was the last time they checked it, and I dont think anyone of us has checked it.

Im kinda concerned since its a couple hundred bucks of stuff that I haven't received, yet. Can the post office randomly not send any more mail if it feels like its not getting picked up? Wouldnt they have to put some sort of notice in there?

If my items shipped last monday of last week through priority mail shouldn't ive have received it by now?

USPS has been real sloppy with some of my packages too. I'm missing at least 2 packages that were sent towards the beginning of this month. Tracking shows no progress since the ship date.

I was going to call my post office today about it. But I've been getting my regular mail...

I'd definitely call and talk to your route postman. Not even getting junk mail sounds a bit weird.

Try Mexico...by no means incompetent, actually a world-class postal service.

However, junk mail is extremely regulated and no more 'you may have already won $$$".

In the course of a month, I only get bills.

. . . then it's abnormal to get mail?

Well it was around here for several years - I'd have to go out and rummage through the hedge to find the important stuff - bills, checks, notices . . . . usually scattered in the bushes or across the lawn.

Then I got smart - I cut down the hedges, easing the access to my mailbox. My mail service improved dramatically. We got a new crop of carriers who actually seemed to care about their jobs. Our regular guy and the lady who often subs for him know us and we always wave and speak when we see them. They even know our dog and are greeted with a sniff and a tail wag.

I used to have a carrier at our office building that came up to our office every day to hand deliver our mail, rather than just leave it in the mailroom downstairs. We always had coffee or juice for her - and usually a small snack set out for our office staff. She was always kind and cheerful - simply a delight . . . then after a couple of years, she came to us for a recommendation for promotion. Well . . . we had to tell the truth, and gave her an EXCELLENT personal review. Naturally, she was promoted to a new job in management . . . and we got a lame-brain who slept for several hours a day in the mail room and only covered three 5-story buildings a day. No good deed seems to go unpunished . . .

It's not uncommon to not get mail for a day or two, past that I would be concerned. Get a locking mailbox, it's piece of mind from all those dang thieves. We have mail stolen constantly in our development and it's crazy how many people still won't pay the money to get a nice big locking mailbox

its good to hear about a postal worker who took pride in their work and got noticed for it, if i hadnt got hurt at work id still be on the job hell i got hurt trying to save some mail from getting damaged

the post office is unfortunatly filled with many people who take their job for granted, ive seen many coworkers abuse their jobs. i swear the place is abused as much as Enron was. i remmeber the buzz about a USPS post master general getting $100K to move ten miles, a lot of my fellow co workers were upset about things like that, i was mostly jealous :P

Well Heres, the thing I contacted my vendors, and sure enough they sent the items like they said they would. I don't think they are the problem at all.

I went to the post office, and they had some mail for me there, but not the packages I was expecting.

2 out of 2 packages thus far not received. Both were sent out in october 23. Both from different vendors.
