craking noise when turning the steering wheel
I have been reading about the control arms, ball joints, tie rods etc going bad. My car is starting to make a clicking noise when I turn the steering wheel all the way in both directions. Sounds like the car is ready to crack. It resembles the creeping noise I get from opening and shutting the door.
Any ideas on what this might be?

power steering fluid?
check your power steering fluid to see if you are low...I think the same thing happened to my aunt's LS400 and a fill of Power Steering fluid fixed it...
hope this helps

It was the lower control arms
They were very expensive! But the noise is gone. I only had 91K miles on the car before they went bad.

hmm, i think mine might be going bad. I have the same crackling sound.
What was more expensive, the parts or labor?

The parts
The parts were like $900 and the labor was close to $500. It was not cheap but it drives much better.
