I started this thread because I want all of you out there to know NOT to go onto E-Bay.com and bid for a part from a company called Autobacs. Last week I won a bid for an ES300 Strut tower bar and by Wednesday, received it in the mail. Total including shipping was 62 dollars. Yesterday, I washed my car (1999 Lexus ES300), then lifted the hood a proceeded to install the bar. I wasn't able to successfully install the bar because one of the strut tower brackets that Autobacs shipped me is not at the correct angle to fit the bolt/bar assembly. Itried switching the brackets and got the same result. I e-mailed Autobacs and told them of the problem. There 1st e-mail accused me of not knowing what I was doing for which I did. They included installation instruction which after reading them, had already followed. I sent them a second e-mail confirming all of this and re-iterated that one of their brackets was either faulty or it was a different model bracket. They insisted with their second reply that it is the correct kit and NOW I have to PROVE to them by sending them pictures of the installation so they can determine if the bracket is faulty PLUS they will not pay for shipping to send back the faulty one even if they determine that the bracket is faulty so that would mean spending much more $$$ plus my time than I intended to. My reply to them was that I was filing a dispute with my credit card company and get my money back because Autobacs won't deal in a resonable manner with their customers. So, what do you think? A few members recommended Autobacs because it is one of the few companies who make a Lexus ES300 strut bar kit but if this is what you have to go through then I am NEVER dealing with them again!!!
Just thought that all of you would like to know this. PLEASE FOR YOUR OWN SAKES, DON"T BUY FROM AUTOBACS........THEY ARE CROOKS AND DON"T BELIEVE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
Take it from me...........a SUCKER!!
Thanks for taking the time to read this....decide for yourself!
