Default Different Wheel Gaps w/ Eibach Pro-Kit Install

I have recently had the Eibach Pro-Kit installed by the Lexus dealer (they were doing other work anyway which included an alignment, so I figured this was a pretty good deal in letting them do it).

Though, I noticed that the driver's side rear tire had no clearance to the outer lip of the wheel well, where all of the other tires had about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inch clearance.

I called Eibach tech support, and other than for the actual rate of the springs being off (which they said they would warranty, but the labor costs to take them out & put my old ones back in and then vice-versa I would not want to pay for), they said it could be the indexing of the springs.

I brought the car back, and explained this to the "lead" tech, and gave him the Eibach tech number as well. All he said after looking/working on the car was "the measurements at each wheel are different". Well great, that means something is really wrong.

Though Eibach claims the wheels are pre-tensioned and do not need any settling-in period, I agreed with the dealer to take the car for a couple weeks to see if anything might change. It hasn't.

Any advice on what else this might be? Everything else with the suspension is still stock. I should also note that the reason the car went in is because I bashed the aluminum frame rail (in the front near the steering column) with a curb, and the steering/alignment had been off, and is even still a little bit off (they claimed to re-correct that, too).

Thanks for any help!

-Dex

Well, it sounds obvious that the accident did something to your car's suspension. I would let them take care of it first. If no success, let a alignment shop figure it out. You might have some frame or suspension damage but, that is worst-case scenario.

Reinstall the stock suspension. If the variance still persists, deal w/ the insurance company. If it fixes the problem, return the springs.

Are you still running stock struts?

Before you buy into this Global Warming Scam; understand this: CO2 has been shown to not be the cause of global warming but a symptom of it. In other words, CO2 is not a "greenhouse gas".

My eibachs settled after about two weeks. The front two were different than the back two, but they leveled out perfect. Seems odd that there could be THAT much difference in a single spring...give it a week...if they don't look like they're settling at ALL, it would seem like that spring is no good. If the car was all level before, I REALLY wouldn't see it being an alignment problem with the frame. It would have been off with factory springs also...

Default My Prokit did..

I just took my SC back to the shop because one side of my car was lowered and the other side didn't look like it was.. argh. I think they put the front springs on the drivers side and the rear springs on the passenger side.. I have been driving it like that for 2 days without noticing.. I bet they mixed up your springs when they put them on..

Default Springs.. ack!

So the springs were on correctly, because you can't switch them.. The shop ordered another set for me, so we will see if that works.. if not, it's coilover time!
