Exclamation Door Lock / Beep 2x / Lights Flash 2x ?

Anyone having this issue:

On several occasions I lock my GS using the key-fob lock button, but instead of the getting the normal "single beep & lights flash once," the response is a "double beep and lights flash 2x" as if instructed to "un-lock" -- yet I checked the doors and confirmed that the car was indeed locked.

This is not a huge inconvenience but rather an intermittent condition. Yet it will cause a walk back to the car to make sure it's locked. I guess it's easier to use the small buttons on the door handles, and while I always get the single beep, I can't see the confirming "lights flash 1x" while standing at the side of the vehicle.

PS. I've set the LPS settings to doors lock upon placing shift lever into gear; and unlock automatically into Park. Not sure if this is relevant.

Also, any word if the new GS350 will be demo'd at the upcoming Taste of Lexus event in October ??

Sounds like the beginnings of a failed actuator.

edit: didn't realize you had 3Gen. Similar symptoms with actuator regardless.

The same exact thing happens with my car, and I have the same LPS settings as you as well. Hmm...

I have the same settings on my car and I've noticed the double beep/double flash from time to time. I mostly lock my car using the buttons on the handles, but sometimes I have to get stuff out of the trunk and use the FOB to lock it afterwards. I just assumed that I actually hit the unlock button by accident or that the lock button is sensitive and that it registered me hitting the button twice very quickly. I haven't gone back to check if the doors are locked as I usually just hit the lock button again and if it beeps once, then I forget about it. I have a cover for the remote and sometimes press the buttons without taking the cover off, so that may be it for me.

It is interesting that you and others have noticed that. I should go back the next time and check to see if the doors are locked after the double beep/double flash.

You know, I also noticed this on my 2IS also. It happens randomly and I do confirm the car is locked. It's weird. I press the button the door I start to walk away until I hear it go "beep beep". Of course my expression is always "O_O!" Not annoying enough to warrant me to be worried though.
