An alternative answer.

Why can't Democrats answer simple questions? What would they do to protect America? What is their alternative to the supposed debauchery that is the Bush Administration. I ask these questions because I was a former Democrat and yes I am African American. All I hear is Bush bashing. Bush this Bush that BUSH, BUSH, BUSH. Ok you don't like Bush. I challenge anyone on this forum who confesses to be a Democrat to explain to me their parties plan to combat The War on Terror.

Rules: Do not say the word Bush! Pretend its 2008 and Bush is gone chillin on his ranch.

I see a lot of people yelling for peace but I have not heard of one plan for peace. " Books, not Bombs" won't work. The head mullahs won't let anyone read them. If they do, they poke their eyes out.

Here's the plan:

1) The US will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past & present. You know, Hitler, Mussolini and the rest of them 'good old boys'. We will never "interfere" again.

2) We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there. We would station troops at our borders. No more sneaking through holes in the fence.

3) All illegal aliens have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll give them a free trip home. After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are. France would welcome them.

4) All future visitors will be thoroughly checked and limited to 90 days unless given a special permit. No one from a terrorist nation would be allowed in. If you don't like it there, change it yourself, don't hide here. Asylum would not ever be available to anyone. We don't need any more cab drivers.

5) No "students" over age 21. The older ones are the bombers. If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back home baby.

6) The US will make a strong effort to become self sufficient energy wise. This will include developing non polluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while.

7) Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go someplace else.

8) If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, we will not "interfere". They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides' most of what we give them is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if any anyway.

9) Ship the UN Headquarters to an island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, it would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.

9b) Use the buildings as replacement for the twin towers.

10) All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer.

Now, ain't that a winner of a plan.

I commend you for having the courage to put principle above party and your willingness not to play follow-the-crowd......especially when the crowd is wrong.
And you sure hit the nail on the head...most of those who bash you-know-who ( you said not to use his name ) have not come up with any real credible or effective alternatives

Just vote Libertarian.....they want to legalize pot and allow you to smoke it at will. We'll be a whole nation of stoned Hippies.

Don't hold your breath. All they can do is tell you what our leadership is doing wrong. They have absolutely no plan or answer. They are just a bunch of windbag complainers. The last time I went to the movies, there was a trailer for an upcoming movie starring Robin Williams who plays a semi shock jock TV host who for a laugh, runs for president. His campaign is based on telling the truth and of course it gets him elected President. I have no idea if this is where this came from but I believe Robin is a fairly strong liberal and the last I heard he was in alcohol rehab so I doubt he has been making many public appearances.

Never been a Democrat, was a republican, but now im wondering whats the point. Although we have no real power, we are limited to people who fight not for the people but for the power and protection they receive from being in office. Bush is just a scapegoat democrats use to blame for all the problems we are now going through. I wonder what they would have said about Gore if he were elected. Then again we might not have been in Iraq now. Then again Saddam would probably still be in power.
Personally i think there should be one group, not multiple parties fighting a popularity campaign. Hold these people to the promises that they make to the people without bankrupting the people. I agree what America should do by keeping its nose out of other countries affairs. Although this may be the best country in the world, it does need lots and lots of repair. How does one plan to help others when they dont even help themselves?
Change needs to happen, but when...time will tell..
