Great find, bit!
Even if there were no links to terrorists, Sadaam himself was a terrorist. And even if Sadaam didn't terrorize the U.S., he was guilty of terrorizing his own people. He murdered countless civilians, jailed thousands without cause, tortured them in Ghengis Khan fashion, and used WMDs on his own citizens.
This is why it is so sad to see all the selfish people in this country who are not willing to help out our Arab neighbors. If they can't see a direct link or benefit for themselves or the U.S-at-large, they dont want to be involved.
We are the richest and most powerful country in the world. If we want a better world for everyone (not just ourselves, but EVERYONE), we must stand up and do the right thing when called upon to do so.
Taking out Sadaam was the right thing to do.

Sadaam's great hero was Stalin. That should speak volumes about his treatment of his own people - friends or foes. Paranoia, cruelty, and ruthlessness reduced both the Soviet Union and Iraq to rusted hulks - where they should have been regional leaders with powerful national economies. They became sad wrecks of nations.

No one will deny Saddam was/is a terrible person, but
has this war/occupation really made life better for Iraqis?
I don't think so. Bush destroyed Iraq in order to "save" it.
The more painful question is long after Bush is out of office
the mess will have to be dealt with. I honestly don't care if
the next administration is Republican or Democrat. We
just need some intelligent, mature people in charge.

Yes, life is better in Iraq. Nobody likes to live under a totalitarian Fascist government. Would you? Maybe you think they were better of being slaughtered by there own government. No freedom of expression, religion, speech etc...etc... How can anyone possibly think they were better off before?
Are there growing pains? Yes. You have 2 Islamic parties wanting power. That has always been there regardless of us being there. Sadaam just crushed anyone that was not Baathist.

57 people got killed and 148 wounded in 5 separate attacks
on August 13. It's been like that pretty much everyday for the
last oh 3 years. A very BAD, tragic version of Groundhog Day
that can no longer be dismissed as "growing pains".
I'd rather NOT live under a fascist government, as I am sure most
of us would not, but the present conditions there are unacceptable
with the country descending into Civil War. Fascism stinks, but
so does endless indiscriminate warfare.

I would bet my annual salary that the number of deaths since Sadaam's demise is far less than the amount of people he was killing and torturing daily when he was in power.

Yeah and I bet we didn't even hear about all the hidden torture/death statistics.

So what..........Saddam has been that way. I feel sorry for those people that were under his administration but that's not our fight. How many of us with our all volunteer military will risk our life for another country's way of living.
Oh yea he wanted to attack the US right? Prove to me he was going to attack CONUS.
