Default Picture with Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens

Okay I invested the $74.00 after all and I am very satisfied with the results so far. I think this lens is one that should be added to the collection of the lens. Let me know what yall think of this picture feel free to critique the pic. Well i tried comprising the image to fit on my attachments but the best i could do is a 97kb instead of 100kb which makes the pic look very pixelated if any can share some ideas on how to compress with better quality let me know

how come its so grainy?

heres a tip
u dont always have to centre the object
usually u leave a bit of room on the side where the object is pointing

in this case, leave a bit more empty space on the right side of the pic to give a more directional and lively look

With a building behind I don't think having the camera at an angle like that works. Just my $0.02.

E-mail me the original if you want and I'll see what I can do with it. bit_kahuna@direcway.com.

Very nice pictures. I like the blur effect on the fence. This makes me want to go out and buy myself a digital Canon SLR camera. I have been looking into it but haven't made the plunge.

I don't think that's it - I think it's just out of focus.

The 50/1.8 is razor sharp but of course very small depth of field at big apertures.

You've got to love that lens. I think it's the best bang for your buck.

Also, from what I've experienced, it's rather SOFT at 1.8 and allows for a VERY small focus area. For example, when I tried to take photos of my girlfriend at 1.8 I would have one eye in focus and the other eye out of focus.

Try your shots at 2.0-2.3 and you'll see great results if you want to achieve a sharp photo w/ great DOF.
