Default did anyone go to the NYC preview of LS460 ?

hey guys,

did any of you guys go to the preview of the LS460 at Chelsea, along with some of John Chamberlain works on friday?

I was pretty disappointed that the car is all covered up in glass. It was a long wheelbase version, and I can see it being very long, and it seemed to be longer as a 750il that was parked nearby.
But with the unlimited open bar, who can complain much...

Anyways, it was interesting to see literally so many LS430s in the parking garage nearby, and along the streets. There were also some (older) guys with 7 series, S-class and A8L ... so Lexus Marketing really did a good job inviting people to come and cross-shop.

I was there. It was a great marketing event for Lexus.
This is the pic of the car taken from the camera on my phone:

It was covered up in glass as stated above.
Pictures don't do this car any justice.

Yeah, it would be nice to be able to sit inside this LWB version with the Maybach style reclining rear seats eh ?
I think the grey color that you saw looks a lot better on the car than this silver one.

yes, you guys in cali definitely have a better experience. We cant even touch the car. And guess what, there was only 1 sales rep standing outside the car to answer questions.
Most of the people who came, are just old-money people, 40-50-60 years old, in navy blue suits, and just doing some networking and drinking coctails.

Although I think I saw a lot of people from corporate Japan at the event though.
Even saw a guy in a Junction Produce jacket, and he was in deep discussion talking about some spoilers with 3 others japanese suits.
If only I understand japanese, because the only word I understood was 'spoilers' .

If we had that LWB for the So. Cal preview, we'd have to drag CL members kicking and screaming from it. Images of a cat trying to claw/hang onto something come to mind.

It's going to be a long wait.

I would think someone here would know about it already if it's him ?

Anyway, even the NY guys are luckier than us, the Vancouver Autoshow is on right now, & all they're showing is the new ES350 I may decide not to go at all . . .

Yea a few members here went so its possible. To bad I couldnt make it though.

Considering that this was also an Art Show I assume they decided to display the LS460 like a work of art as well. Look but dont touch. Thats the only conclusion I can come up with.

It would have been nice to touch it and get inside of it, but I assume there were tons of people there. Plus yall had an open bar, who could complain.

The members I had invited through my list was TLW and his guests (JP folks) and RX400h. The whole event was to showcase John Chamberlain's work, not the LS460L. The car was there as a bonus to kickoff what's coming up at the NYIAS. Our event here in SoCal was an exclusive for CL. No other enthusiast group was invited.
