Default Very nitpicky, but anyone else's exhaust tips slightly uneven?

My left exhaust tip hangs about 1/2" lower than my right tip. Me being the perfectionist that I am will probably try to adjust them. It looks like they are hung with a rubber hanger, so maybe I can stretch the rubber on the right side a little to make them hang the same.

I've noticed the same thing on my 250, will have dealer look at it at 5k service next week.

Natural tips are often a little uneven.

Has anyone ever driven behind a 350/250 and seen how shakey the exhaust is? every single IS i hve driven behind has what seems to be an extremely lose exhaust, including mine. I took it to the dealer and they claim its normal.

It is normal. Drive behind just about any car you'll see the same thing. All exhausts are mounted with rubber hangers, because the whole system needs to flex. If everything was solidly mounted it would break as soon as you hit a few bumps or buried the throttle.

Yep, shakey exhaust is normal and will tend to shake more on a car with a firmer suspension.

Back to the exhaust tip uneveness, I tried to pull the high side exhaust down a little and stretch the rubber mount slightly. Apparently it worked, because they are just about even now.

But I feel the exhaust is incredibly lose....i mean I see the exhaust pipes going up and down at lesat 3-4 inches each way.

Other cars theres a slight vibrations, but this one has a very noticeable upward and downward movement. I didn't have it at first, around 0-4K miles, but now I know that i have it.

Yestgerday my girlfriend was driving it out of my driveway and going over the curb it oscillates.

weird....dealer said that lexus is aware of it....but I haven't followed up on it

Normal, it's uneven cause the left exhaust has more piping to reach the passenger side. The y pipe is off center.

It shakes, cause that's the nature or most dual exhaust systems.

A good exhaust system you will not see any movement. When you see movement that means the exhaust is moving more than the car is. These cars are prone to that though. I know my S4 was way more solid because I had the tips about 3/8 of an inch away from the bumper cut outs and it never made contact because there were never any heat marks. If it was like that on the is you would have paint chipping because the exhaust moves that much.

I had the same problem. Also, the left exhaust tip came out further than the right so I told the dealer and they fixed it
