Default LMS Intake arrived and my dyno results...

I got the LMS intake in the mail last night and immediately put it on. I took the car for a drive afterwards and I swear my butt dyno was telling me that the car felt very different. I took the car in for a dyno today and didn't see as much of a gain as I thought I would. Keep in mind that my exhaust has been modified and your results may vary when/if you decide to buy an LMS intake.

I have had my IS350 dynoed 3 times now, a baseline, after changing the exhaust, and now today's dyno after installing the LMS intake.

I only saw a gain of 3.68 hp at the wheels. Baseline I was at 268.69, changed the exhaust and my hp was 273.44, and now after installing the LMS intake, my hp @ the wheels is 277.12.

I'm not trying to slam anyone by this post, so don't call up LMS and complain to them that their intake is only worth 3.68 hp at the wheels because like I said earlier, these are the results for my IS350 at my location and on the same dyno from the previous two runs. I'm going back to the drag strip tonight in another attempt to get this car into the 12's, even if it is the high 12's.

I just installed the LMS intake tonight as well. Like you said, the butt dyno felt a difference. Now everytime I accelerate from a stand still, being pretty liberal with the throttle, I chirp the tires. And the tone it gives you.... this thing really comes to life after 4,000 RPM!!! I love it, regardless of whatever HP I get to the wheels.

Thanks for posting your results.

I am curious to how the results would have differed if you did not have the exhaust system; i.e. baseline and subsequently, just the intake. Your exhaust system gains may be offsetting the intake (only) gains.

I will be installing my this weekend but will defer to others' dynos and experiences.

Thanks for the intake review, do you notice any sound difference
in the 1,000-4,000 rpm range?

Thanks

Just curious, but why don't you have your dyno charts Correction Factor (CF) set to (SAE) instead of Standard (STD) to correct for weather condition variances!? Typically having it set to (TD) will show higher numbers, but you lose accuracy. I am actually getting my car dynoed for the 2nd time today at 4pm EST with my LMS intake. They will be overlaying my results with my baseline posted below. I'll post my results this evening, which should be a honest approach at showing what kind of gains the LMS intake gives the IS350.

Here is my baseline dyno of the car bone stock. Tonight I will post my new dyno chart overlaid with my baseline with the only modification being the LMS intake. Wish me luck!

wonder why the torque curve starts falling so bad after 5500 rpm, somethings restrictive

No, this is normal. Typically any car on a dyno the torque will significantly drop off at the last 1000rpms and since this car redlines at 6500rpm this is fine. Just looks weird because the graph is stretched out as the dyno really doesn't start until 4000+rpm. You can't get an accurate reading in 4th gear below 80mph due to the car wanting to downshift at anything below 80.

i see, lexus needs to release a damn 350 manual then it would be a lot easier to dyno i suppose, even in paddle shift mode it wants to downshift? Is 3rd or 4th gear the closest to 1:1 gear ratio?

4th gear is closest 1:1 gear ratio and yeah I wish with the damn sport shift mode would keep the car in one gear.
