Default Need Opinions on GS 300

Hi I am Chris,

I am really considering a GS300 which will be an upgrade from my 96 Maxima. The Maxima has 500,000 Miles on it and well, I think I am going to sell it off for $5,000 before the price goes down anymore.

I test drove the GS and fell in love! So many technologies and its a major upgrade from a 96 car! I love the Navigation, the Backup Camera, turning Headlights, Auto-Windsheild Wipers, and etc.

I am the type of person who drives about 70 miles to work every single day. I could have afforded another car already but, when I bought my Maxima, I am the type of person who uses the things I buy to the FULLEST. If I am going to buy this car, I am hoping that it won't have Oxygen Senor problems like my Maxima. I also want the Lexus to drive over 200,000 atleast. I heard good things about Lexus so, I am going to give this a try Maybe.

Can you guys help me decide? Other cars I have been thinking of is the Infiniti M35 and Acura RL. The RL might be too pricey I don't know.

Lexus Dealer Price for G300 - $45,595 for AWD & any color I want. (Top of Line)
Acura Dealer Price for RL - $60,120 for Top of the Line RL
Infiniti Dealer Price for M35 - $47,599 for Top of the Line M35

I say go with the GS hands down. IMO you are getting a much better car than the other two for the money.

Also you can check the gallery and see first hand what can be done with these cars with out loosing reliability. As for the milage, with proper maintenance 200k should be no problem for the Lex.

Must say though, 500k miles on your Maxima. WOW, talk about getting your money's worth.

Good Luck to you..............and oh yeah, welcome to CL.

White or silver, given the miles you drive. Those colors show less ware.Thats a great price if you get all those options.

Color choice is really up to you and what will make you happy. My 98 GS is silver with black interior and with the exception of some rock chips in the front hood, the paint is pretty much

You are making the right decision here with the purchase of the Lexus. Most reliable car I have ever owned. ( and I thought my 97 Honda Accord was reliable ).

And yes, the people at your job will be like

Chris:
I know you will love it! I just traded in my 2005 RX 330 for my 2006 GS 300 AWD yesterday! I just wanted to sit in the garage and look at it! I took the Cypress Pearl (green) with all of the upgrades. LOVE the NAV/bluetooth stuff.

ENJOY

Well, I went to the dealer early about 3 hours and they let me just pick it up there. They said they didn't install the gold trimming for the door edges yet so, I had to wait 20 minutes.

The whole car looks fantastic! I have some pictures and I will post them tomorrow! My wife is so jealous!

Jesus, 500K on your Maxima!!??? I'm glad I'm holding onto mine. I only have 88K on mine.

Congrats on the new ride though. I'm sure it will last just as long, probably longer.
