Most likely yes, all lexus cars have generally the same wirring harnes's. Its more economical that way.

^^^toyota's really good about that...using similar wiring looms to cut costs instead of making specific looms for certain model cars. So if you happen across the lastest gen Nav found in the new IS i dont see it being a problem

Possibly but I know that my buddy at Lexus said that the new IS is going to be the first car with the 5th generation and is going to be the only one with it at this point.

My wish...Lexus should update the New GS with the 5th gen NAVI ASAP...after all, both are the line's newest 2006 models...and body types slated for years to come...bring on the L-Finesse style with the 5th gen NAVI!

Although I do realize the IS console font is 'serifed' which matches (sorta?) the NAVI font...maybe the new GS will have that too...2007 yr?

I'm sorry that I have to say " No". It will not work on the new 3GS. The nav ECU, software and wireharness are non-interchangable. You will see the 5th gen nav on the GS450h and GS460.

it's rather annoying to me that we don't have the same nav as the is. after all, we are the step up model in the lineup, and this vehicle is listed as an 06 model. just makes me a little frustrated that there is something better on a lower priced vehicle from the same manufacturer in the same model year. i've seen the next gen nav on the IS and i believe it to appear much better than my GS. just my opinion though.
Also, would this be something that could be upgraded with just a newer navi disc? just curious.

Although I understand your standpoint, it always depend on when something becomes available. If the 5th Gen navi work was not done for the 3GS release earlier this year, there is not much Lexus could do about it. Would you have rather Lexus delay the release until now? Would you rather they do not build a Navi 3GS until now, making everyone who wanted Navi wait?

I am not even saying these scenarios are feasable from a Lexus business standpoint. Even if you picked one of the "waiting" scenarios, other consumers may not agree. Sometimes, it is just the way things go.

Hahhaa???? For a person with 32,000 posts you must get off on the "I told you so" sensation. How old are you? 12?

I knew of the IS long long long before I made my GS purchase. Summer came and I couldnt pass it without a car so I bought the GS. If I could have waited until October or Novemeber I would have done so. I posted that somewhere. You didnt read it? Hahhaa !
