Man its quiet in here. So Bush and co. hire ANOTHER friend? Harriet!lol
I am not surprised no one has brought this up. From my understanding, banned member Robbsneak is more qualified than this clown.
Another way to lead the American people.

Im just sitting back, keeping my mouth shut, watching the mighty fall, and waiting to see who is indicted, who is not, who is supporting our president, who is voicing discrening opinions of his actions, and so on. I think they have enough rope to hang themselves so I feel no need to instigate at this time.

Yeah, it's odd how this particular message board will heat up for a couple of weeks and then go silent for no apparent reason.
Harriet Miers is defnitely not my first pick. And yes, there was defnite cronyism involved. But lets not act like she is on par with Michael Brown. That clown had no qualifications. Harriet Myers has been at the top of the legal game for many, many years.
1985- First woman to become president of Dallas Bar Association
1992- First woman to become president of Texas State Bar Assn
1993- Woman Lawyer's achievment award winner for state of Texas
1996- First female president of a Texas law firm with over 200 lawyers
1997- Named to the National Law Journal's 100 Most Powerful Attorneys list
1998- Names one of the 50 most influential women lawyers in America
She is a highly experienced trial lawyer and well known nationwide in the legal community.
110 people have sat on the Supreme Court. 38 were not previously sitting judges when selected for the Supreme Court. Even 4 Cheif Justices were appointed without previous judicial experience.
What else do you want from a candidate?
Wouldn't worry anyway. She wont be confirmed because the radical right Repubs in the Senate screwed everything up. We'll see another candidate next year, I bet.

I think she may withdraw her nomination not wanting to go through the public grilling.
She's obviously a talented person but it seems she was picked for only 2 reasons - she's a woman and Bush believes he can trust her vote because he's known her so long. I guess he couldn't find another candidate who met those two criteria. Too bad he felt compelled to appoint only women but I guess he knew he'd be roasted (even more) if he didn't replace O'Connor with a woman.
