Default Delphi

What do you guys think about the Delphi bankruptcy? The Detroit news online (detnews.com) website had an article about some of the hourly workers who were filing bankruptcy and I just couldn't believe what I was reading. They interviewed this 57 year old fork lift operator who said the reason he was filing bankruptcy was because his annual pay with overtime went from $120,000 to $86,000. He had averaged $110,000 annually for the past 15 years and could no longer afford to pay his bills making only $86,000.

$120,000 for a fork lift operator! No wonder they are going broke.

Nothing new here. Watched family and friends make these wages since I was 2.

Please don't take this the wrong way but do they really believe that some of these jobs deserve such ridiculous salaries? Man there are people with doctorates that don't make that kind of money.

Laugh, if you came across some other threads you would know I don't agree with it or the UAW because I watched this mess grow since I was a child.

I think paying a fair wage for the level of work \ exp \ edu is fair.

Forklift driver? 12-15 an hour is fair.

Company is booming, share profits.

Company is hurting, all you get is your wage.

My views....

With the UAW and "The Gang that Couldn't Shoot Straight" management, it should give the Chinese all the time they need to develop their auto industry and sell a lot of cars here.
