I'm pretty sure this is new info ... but if it's a repost, forgive me.
I recently read the last Motor Trend issue (July I believe) and in it they had some stuff on the next LS. The mag said the LS would be the most radical looking out of all the L-finesse cars, which many of us know already.
The mag also said that the car's sheetmetal would have "planes and curves intersecting in 8 unexpected ways".
Even more interesting, they said the LS would feature a radar-based collision avoidance system (like the new 2007 S Class) and will include active steering, damping, and suspension .
If Toyota actually creates a fully active damping and suspension system (not semi-active like many systems are today) then this surely combined with daring new styling will allow the LS to make the same big splash as it did in 1989.
This sounds almost too good to be true ... and I hope this is true .... I can't WAIT to see the new LS ... especially the interior .... maybe the headrests will have screens to fully compete with the Germans?

There are so many stories about this Ls, and no one knows what is actually true.
So will the 2007 LS be unveiled in Tokyo this November?
Haha, I'm not sure, just hoping I think it will be available for sale here by fall 2006 though. So my guess is we'll know more about it by January in Detroit, of not in Tokyo.

Absolutely true that there is some cross-pollinization between the boards. But if you missed it, posts 316,317,318 on Edmunds 2007 LS board are REALLY valuable:
Yeah, sounds really interesting. What about the Century he said he's working on ? It could be the ultra lux Lexus model above the LS that has been rumoured before, I hope so

Wow ... that forum had A LOT of interesting info not previously posted on ClubLexus. Definitely something to bookmark to read up later on, and to check on as those Japanese update with more posts.
The Century, FYI, has been the flagship Toyota model for over 30 years. It actually had air suspension way back in 1969 on it .. amazing eh? The Century costs the equivalent of almost $90 US, if bought in Japan. The car really is a step above the LS, and the next gen LS will probably have a few features and options of the current Century.
I was shocked in that I had no idea Toyota was redesigning the Century. Now I have yet another car to look forward to.
The Century is a step above the LS, and even though it's under the Toyota badge, it will still hold high prestige and regard even when the LS comes out in Japan.
This could be what Lexus execs meant when they talked about a $100K+ "super LS". The engineer who posted in the Edmunds forums said if the Century ever came to North America, it would be priced about half the cost of a Maybach. I guess the new Century is going to be a huge change ... it's Toyota's ONLY vehicle to have a V12 in it .. and the Japanese guy who posted made mention of a V12 hybrid for the Century with about 600HP
Japanese always keep the good stuff for themself!!
GTR, Silvia, Toyota Majestic, Century, NIssan president...
and yes, Century is extremely hard to get!
