. . . except most sketches of Japanese cars, especially Lexus, are usually not accurate
& I thought we' ve heard from unofficial sources that it's going to be a LS460 next year for the new LS . . . we may get a 5.0 litre V8 later though

That's definitely a sketch that will closely resemble the new LS. The source of the article is a top engineer inside the Lexus Corp. and he says that the picture seen above is the only sketch out there that closely resembles the highly anticipated new LS. He states that 1 chosen photographer was given permission from Lexus to take 2 photos of the new LS. Once the photos were developed, an artist was allowed to produce his drawings. The photos were then destoyed.
Lexus is keeping this thing under tight security! Who knows if this guy is blowing smoke or not, but he seems to be legitimate and is very forthright. Maybe Lexus is using this to throw people of the scent. Only time will tell. At any rate, he does say the car will be featured at the Toyko auto show, so possibly we will have true photos in Oct.
One of the salepeople over at JM lexus told me that the new LS will have tires that inflate to 70psi and as a result will give groundbreaking performance. An increase of over 40 horsepower compared to standard tires. Sweet !!!
I read a magazine the other day and I seen a sketch that looked much better than this one. It looked like a cross between the current car and an Audi a8,it looked pretty mean. long and low.

I would be very interested to know how 40psi tires sap 40bhp off off the drivetrain. This is coming froma salesperson?? That explains it. Never talk tech with a salesperson- I learned that the hard way and had to return an 05 LS430 w/ sport suspension because they told me "there are no suspension parts that are different. It just corners better." After chipping a tooth from a pothole, I called the Service dpetartment and asked exactly what parts where different between the two setups- the salesperson was dead wrong. Luckily they took it back and found a "normal" LS.
Wouldn't 70psi tires make for a go-cart like ride? They might as well make solid rubber tires.
The carconnection.com has a spy photo of the 2007 LS. The basic shape appears the same but it seems to have those ugly bulges around wheel wells, similar to 2006 S class MB.

Hey guys and gals, I was searching for the drawing of the next ls that I saw in a magazine the other day and I came across this video of the lf-a in action. It's off topic but cool nonetheless. Here you go http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=105484 .
