Default Picked up my Blk/Blk '06 GS 430!!!

My sales rep. told me three weeks ago that my '06 Blk/Blk GS 430 was scheduled to arrive on April 7th. This put me at ease because for like 2-3 weeks prior, he could not get one allocated in Blk/Blk, only Blk/Gray, which I didn't want.

Now, I know what you are thinking, the gray interior looks sweet, and I agree, yes it does. I love the Black Wood trim. But, living in Michigan I figured that the gray interior would look dirty easier than Black interior. And, I think that Blk/Blk looks more Stealthy or Dath Vader-like. I wish the black interior came with black wood trim, not the redish brown wood. Maybe this will be a future mod. I don't think that it would be too difficult, except for the steering wheel. But, probably gonna be quite costly.

Anyways, I asked the dealer if that date was an accurate date or a educated guess based on when it was sceduled to arrive at port and he said that it could come sooner or later based on the driver of the truck that it would be getting shipped on. I was a little satisfied with that statement, but really just wanted to know when it was coming so I could plan some things around its arrival (15% tint, JL Audio 1000/1 amplifier, JL Audio 13W7 subwoofer, remote radar, and test fitment for new 20's to order), but whatever.

I was off of work today because I had to have some Cortizone injections in my back to help with the pain from an accident I was in back in my in my old car ('03 Infiniti G35 Coupe). I decided to drive by the dealership and see if by chance it was there. I didn't see a truck there but did see some new inventory since the last time I was there (Monday) to get the winter mats because the parts guy called me and said that they had arrived in stock .

I drove through that lot and didn't see it. I was kinda dissappointed, but again, whatever. I took a quick spin through the back inventory lot and there she was...

My 2006 GS 430 has arrived!

I wanted SO BAD to go into the dealership right then and there to drive it home but I figured that it was 5:00 PM (close at 6:00pm), it wasn't yet prep'd, and I was promised it on the 7th. Also, I didn't have my personal license plate to transfer, insurance and most importantly my down payment.

I guess I could wait one more day .

Just thought that I would share that with everyone here. I am excited!.

It is loaded with everything (Nav. & M.L.), except the Precollision system (on salespersons recommendation).

Here's a link to some pictures from the day I took delivery...

JKashat , congrats on your new GS. Looking forward to seeing the pictures. I'm also thinking of going black on black on my GS300. Have you ever owned a black car and what do you or anyone else here think about its upkeep?

Congrats on the new GS & welcome to the family!

Typically I've found the sales persons recommendation (regarding PCS) to be in the best interests of the sale person. i.e. Making the deal happen in the quickest period of time. It is better at Lexus than any other dealer, but it still happens.

DaveJ, I owned a '93 LT-1 Z28 back when I was in high school. I was beautiful and looked sleek, but was a b*tch to keep clean and looking good. I told myself that I'd never get another black car, but since my dad had an Silver '04 LS and my mom has a Graphite (Sportdesign) '04 ES, that was really the only choice for me. I picked it up today, and I don't regret black/black, yet!

It has arrived!!!

It looks much better in person than in pictures.

When I went to pick it up it was sitting in the service garage at the exit, all shiney and nice.

My sales associate put a "Congradulations Jeff" card on the dash. Nice touch.

Winter mats installed so far.

Xenon colored bulbs and 15-20% tint to follow.

Measured the trunk, pretty small for stereo equipment. Gonna get the JL Pro_wedge (2) 10W6v2 sealed enclosure powered by a JL 1000/1 amplifier (Chrome).

Jacked the car up at my buddies wheel/tire/stereo/accessories shop to test fix rim offsets... We decided that w/o sticking out of the body of the car a 20x8.5 +30 to 35mm offset would be best in the front and 20x9.5 +45 offset would be the best for the back (like that blk one w/ the 19 Volk's). I am gonna order the Ray's Engineering Lexion Type 203's in 20x8.5/9.5 this week. They said 2-3 months to get them.

I will try and post some pictures Friday. I took a bunch, but they are 3 and 5 megapixels and still are too large to upload.

I don't think that was the car because my sales rep knew that I would have waited longer if I had to. I was willing to go until at least May if I had to. I got the 3rd GS 430 out of my dealership. The first was a blk/gray which I turned down because I wanted blk/blk. The second was a silver/gray which I almost cracked on and got but didn't, and the third is my blk/blk. There have been plenty of GS 300's showing up at the dealership so far. My GS 430 was the only one on the lot.
