Default 5 stars for the new GS on the Euro NCAP!!!

The new Lexus GS300 achieves best in class accolade for adult occupant protection.

Executive cars can be both top of the range in occupant safety as well as luxury according to Euro NCAP, who today (29) confirmed the highest adult occupant protection score achieved by any car in the Executive Class in Europe's leading independent crash tests. The car, the Lexus GS300 achieved the top five star adult occupant protection rating.

In addition, the Lexus GS300 achieved the top four star rating for child protection, and a best in class 18 points and the two star rating for pedestrian protection.

The GS got 94% on frontal impact rating, beating the other five star models like Audi A6, MB E Class, Renault Vel-Satis or the Saab 9-3. Any of those could not get higher rating than 90%.

This is, of course, fantastic news, and shows that Lexus is dead serious about taking the fight to the competition. The Euro NCAP scores are particularly important in Europe these days.

Good job lexus, all latest Toyota cars got 5 stars (Avensis, Prius, Corolla Verso).

On the other hand, BMW barely managed 4 star rating for new 5 series...

Shame we couldn't get a response from the Dummies as to the effect the PCS had on their collision. Hope none of us ever find out.

On their website they list the GS as an 05. Is it an 05 in Europe?
