Yes, I agree. Those wheels do nothing for the car. I sure hope there is an option for a more sporty looking wheel. Hey I'm still young and those wheels do nothing for me.
The GS430's 18" wheels look MUCH better than the GS300's 17". They should have optional wheels like how european manufactors do if they really want to go up against the europeans.
yeah, imho the suspension (look wise, not performance) and the wheels have been hurting lexus big time.... i don't know who design wheels for the lexus models, but in general they are all must go items... the wheels on the is300 are pretty much the only good ones i have seen of the whole lexus line up....
well that's one more incentive for me to mod the cars

The GS430 with the 18 inch rims look hot and the stance looks pretty decent from the factory. I think Lexus has to make 18s standard with 19s as an option. Those 17s in the picture look miniscule on such a big car.
Regarding other Lexus wheels, the 2nd gen GS 17s were nice, the IS300 17's too, and so are the RX330's 18's.
well bigger wheels are the future i think everyone agrees, now 15" wheels are awk in every sense, and 16s are pretty much the minimum. i think most performance cars would have 18s now, and 19s become options (and soemtimes standard) for high performance cars

I agree. I remember a decade ago when I got my first car (Mustang 5.0) that you were pimp if you have 17s. I dreamed of slapping 17s on my car, now there are a lot of cars that have 17s and 18s from the factory. And now those SUVs and high performance luxury cars are coming with at least 19s.

Same here, I remember getting 17" wheels tires for my 95 Accord back in 98, and thinking "man this is the LIFE!" LOL Now a few cars have a 20" option!
That GS looks like it has The Governators upper body, and Steve Urkel's legs! Does anyone else see a few design cues from the 1st Gen GS in the 3rd Gen? (c-pillar, higher profile, longer hood, etc, etc)

Those wheels simply do not fit (size - wise NOR cosmetically) that car IMO.
Almost as if a separate group of designers came in after the car was designed and asked to quickly come up with a 17" wheel for it. I think most here could've done better with a pencil and piece of white paper. The 18" wheels OTOH look like they were concieved when the whole car was first sketched out.
Sure 17" is small for that car, but still, the multiple spokes and no lip seem to fight the cars' body lines.

This is what I was talking about. If Lexus put 18s as standard, the car looks so much better and the suspension looks just right. So really the suspension isn't that bad, it's the size of the rims/wheels that make it look bad.
