Arnold for President
Who would like to see the Constitution amended and allow Arnold Schwarzenegger to run for President of the United States? Arnold is one of our most true hearted Americans and has an extreme pride to be a part of this great nation. He is an incredible inspiration of the American dream, a humanitarian, an activist,
and so many other things.
Born as a poor Austrian boy -----> becomes the king of bodybuilding and changes the sport forever ----> turns into the biggest actor in the world -----> becomes Governor of California -----> President of the US?
This, to me, is the most impressive life a human being has ever lived. That's saying something.

The guy's truly amazing. Another feat was marrying a die-hard Democrat related to the Kennedy family!
I'd vote for him in a heartbeat. Not just because of his abilities but because he's an optimist, he's a good concensus builder, he still calls out 'bad' politics and cowardice, and unlike so many born here, he appreciates what makes the U.S. great and knows why we shouldn't try to be 'just like Europe' like so many Liberals seem to beg for.

werd... Arnold is the man!!! you know he would become the most popular Presidnet in the history of the US. and i actually think he would do an excellent job. Look at the mess he inherited in CA and hes turing the things around. Hes got my vote. Id be curious to know who his VP would be...

Pretty cool results so far.
I think if Arnold was able and did run for 2008 or 2012 he would win. If all it takes to win is beating another typical politician than it would be no challenge for Arnold. Most people in office are there to make money, have power, and think along the lines of businessmen. That's all they are. Arnold, on the other hand, genuinely cares. He want's nothing more than to help the US. He is serving California for NO pay and doesn't except a dime from special interests. This is the type of man we need as president. NOT another businessman.

I like Arnold and would vote for him, but............................
There was a reason the laws were set up this way. We've had one person in over 200 years even make people consider changing this rule. As great as Arnold is or might be, it would be opening a "pandora's box" so to speak since it would open the door for ANY non-citizen to be President and that is the part of this idea that I don't like.
Great, it would open the door for Arnold, but unfortunately it would open the door to too much else too!

Even if the law allows a non-born citizen to run, it doesn't mean they can easily get into office though.
I don't think we'd have to worry about a person coming along, get elected and turn against the US's interest in favor of his home country. Arnold may very well be the only person able to overcome the handicap of being born outside the US. He has been in the public eye for over 35 years and has earned our trust.
We all originate from other countries. That's what America is built on. Arnold couldn't choose the country he was born in, but he chose the country he loves.

I agree, probably not for the 1st 50 or 100 years, but don't be fooled to think that it could NEVER happen. And with the way our immigration policy works today and all this amnesty crap, etc. etc. a rule changed for one person can and will have significant unintended outcomes in the future. It has happened before and it will happen again.
As they say, be careful what you wish for!

I love Arnold just as much as the next guy (hell, I go to the Arnold's Classic in Columbus, OH every year to see him) but I doubt I could ever take him very seriously as a politician. I'm still surprised he is governing California (KAH-LEE-FOR-NEE-YA) right now. Crazy.
