Only the fearless, fighting French could find themselves in this situation. Fighting in the "quagmire" of the Ivory Coast to defend French nationals against the local government. Hmmm . . . somehow, this story seems very familiar . . .
Maybe its because Ivory Coast is the world's leading producer of cocoa, that France is sending her sons into harm's way in its greedy lust for . . . chocolate. France has broken with UN peacekeepers in the region in order to conduct a unilateral campaign of aggression against Ivorians who, in rebellion against outside authority now hate the French, see them as occuppiers, and will try to oust them from their nation by force.
Surely Mr. Chirac personally is in it for the chocolate - a tool of the cocoa cartel, he is profiteering by driving up the worldwide price of cocoa, artificially creating a shortage, and forcing chocolatiers all over Europe to pay his price for cocoa.
Somebody alert Michael Moore . . . there's scandal to be made, and this time it involves
chocolate !!
